Kessler Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education
Corporation (KMRREC) is a non-profit medical research organization located
in Northern New Jersey. It is a subsidiary of the Henry H. Kessler Foundation,
Inc., a public charity which is the supporting organization for KMRREC.
The mission of KMRREC is to conduct basic and applied research in the
field of physical medicine and rehabilitation that will improve health
and promote wellness for persons with physical disabilities, musculoskeletal
and neurological conditions and may lead to cures.
KMRREC will offer education programs, as well as disseminate its research
findings to a national and international audience of scientists, clinicians,
educators and consumers who are concerned with improving the quality of
life for persons with these conditions.
KMRREC has a full-time staff of about 65 individuals. There is active
collaboration with Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, the University
of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, the New Jersey Institute of Technology,
and the Veterans Administration New Jersey Health Care System.
Research areas at KMRREC include Neuropsychology and Neuroscience, Outcome
Studies, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Rehabilitation
Engineering, Gait Analysis and Motor Control.
The Foundation raises funds to support KMRREC's research and education
programs.
