In marking 50 years of service, Kessler is proud of
its history and achievements. It is also mindful of the future and the
work ahead.
Throughout the nineties, Kessler continued to shape the way patients benefit
from rehabilitation. With the opening of satellite outpatient centers,
Kessler services were brought closer to home for many patients. Kessler
Rehabilitation Corporation continued to grow and expand patient services.
Kessler embarked on a plan to develop a nationwide premier network of
rehabilitation facilities.
As a result of a corporate reorganization on December 31, 1997, the Henry
H. Kessler Foundation's assets were enhanced by the outright ownership
of the stock of Kessler Rehabilitation Corporation - the for-profit holding
company of the Institute and other operating entities.
The Foundation became the supporting organization of a new wholly owned
not-for-profit medical research organization, Kessler Medical Rehabilitation
Research and Education Corp.(KMRREC). KMRREC is carrying on and expanding
the research and education activities previously conducted by the Institute.
