Dr. Henry H. Kessler founded The Kessler Institute
for Rehabilitation more than fifty years ago to help people with disabilities
lead independent and productive lives.
Today, The Henry H. Kessler Foundation proudly carries on that tradition
by raising, managing and distributing resources in support of rehabilitation
research, education and community programs. The Foundation's primary focus
is to support research in spinal cord and traumatic brain injury, stroke
and multiple sclerosis through Kessler Medical Rehabilitation and Education
Corporation (KMRREC).
The Foundation also sponsors education program related to the prevention
of accidents and illnesses that affect children and adolescents, funding
to community agencies serving people with disabilities, and WheelBlazers,
a wheelchair racing team.
