Vision
The Vision of the Foundation is to be the preeminent organization
that supports and encourages rehabilitation research, education and services
worldwide.
Mission
The Mission of the Foundation is to improve the lives of people with disabilities
by raising, managing and distributing resources in support of Kessler
Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education Corporation (KMRREC) and
encouraging other exemplary rehabilitation research, education and services
that are focused on improving the lives of people with disabilities.
In 1948, Dr. Henry H. Kessler founded the Kessler
Institute for Rehabilitation to help people with disabilities achieve
maximum independence. His dream went beyond treating the patient's medical
needs. He encouraged the development of research efforts, training programs
for rehabilitation personnel, community education, and an international
program to disseminate knowledge worldwide.
Today, The Henry H. Kessler Foundation remains committed to that vision
by raising and distributing funds to support rehabilitation research,
education and community rehabilitation programs, and to provide aid for
people with disabilities to assist with the expenses related to rehabilitation.
The Foundation, a New Jersey non-profit corporation, is a public charity
exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501( c ) ( 3) of the Internal
Revenue Code. The Foundation is the supporting organization for Kessler
Medical Rehabilitation Research and Education Corp.(KMRREC), a non-profit
corporation devoted to medical research.
